Pretty Terrible

Pop Culture Criticism by Natalie Luhrs

Three Things: Things to Read

I have an enormous list of books I’m looking forward to reading this year. So many things that look interesting!

Too Like the Lightning, Ada Palmer

25th century, post- scarcity, flying cars–this looks like a lot of fun and also extremely thought-provoking. I’ve been waiting to read this one for a quite some time and it’s almost time!

The Obelisk Gate, N.K. Jemisin

The second book in the Broken Earth trilogy–I loved the first volume beyond measure and can’t wait to see what happens next. The first book wasn’t an easy read and I don’t expect the second will be any easier. But I also expect that it will absolutely be worth my time.

All the Birds in the Sky, Charlie Jane Anders

This book is already out, so I may go ahead and pick it up–it’s about childhood friends who meet again in adulthood and the end of the world and magic and science and YES PLEASE.
