George R.R. Martin Can Fuck Off Into the Sun, or: The 2020 Hugo Awards Ceremony (RageBlog Edition)

As I said elseweb, I am thoroughly thrilled by all the folks who won Hugos tonight. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until I no longer have a voice to speak: we are living in a golden age of science fiction and fantasy and I'm humbled to be a part of this gloriously diverse community. Science fiction and fantasy--and the people who write and...

Reading the Locus Recommended Reading List

It's time to look at the Locus Recommended Reading List again! (2015, 2016) High-level analysis: gender parity is improving while non-binary writers are still a significantly small proportion of the total; the total percentage of writers of color dropped 3% but is still better than it was in 2015, the first year of this analysis. Edited 2017-12-08: I have more thoughts about this whole situation here, in light of the additional information provided by Patreon late Thursday afternoon. Hello! I'm Natalie Luhrs.

I write about books, culture, disability, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I have many opinions.

I am a two-time Hugo Award finalist, in 2017 for Best Fan Writer and in 2021 for my essay “George R.R. Martin Can Fuck Off Into the Sun, Or: The 2020 Hugo Awards Ceremony (Rageblog Edition)” in the Best Related Work category.

Please do not offer me medical advice. I have something like 10 doctors and it’s already pretty challenging to keep up with what they want me to do. I do not have the bandwidth to process any advice that doesn’t come from one of my doctors, no matter how well meant the advice may be. Thank you!

Wishlists
