Another Day, Another Serial Harasser

Another Day, Another Serial Harasser

While I was on Facebook this afternoon, I ran across a post from Jaym Gates (screencap). It's about a man who has been harassing her for quite some time--to the point of serious mental distress. In the comments, someone posted a link to a Facebook profile, who Jaym confirmed was her harasser: Warren Schultz. Edited to add: Warren Schultz is a freelance...

No One Should Feel Alone

I've been thinking a lot about predators over the last month. There's been a significant subtweeting about someone who had been abusing and taking advantage of women writers and this past Friday, Kristine Wyllys said his name: Sunil Patel. I first heard about Sunil Patel's predatory behavior several years ago. The stories I've heard are not mine to tell....

World Fantasy 2015: Harassment Policy Update

So this happened this morning: This change in policy has not been sent out to the membership and I have not yet received a response to my email, not even to acknowledge receipt (I will be following up on that later this evening). I have concerns. They will be using the policy from last year's convention in addition to the one they developed with the legal...

Meg Frank, the Events Deputy Division Head also...

Hello! I'm Natalie Luhrs.

I write about books, culture, disability, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I have many opinions.

I am a two-time Hugo Award finalist, in 2017 for Best Fan Writer and in 2021 for my essay “George R.R. Martin Can Fuck Off Into the Sun, Or: The 2020 Hugo Awards Ceremony (Rageblog Edition)” in the Best Related Work category.

Please do not offer me medical advice. I have something like 10 doctors and it’s already pretty challenging to keep up with what they want me to do. I do not have the bandwidth to process any advice that doesn’t come from one of my doctors, no matter how well meant the advice may be. Thank you!

Wishlists

Look, I know it’s crass, but I’m unemployed and not going to have an income until my SSDI goes through and who knows when that’ll be, so here’s some wishlists in case you want to buy me something. I try to keep them reasonably up to date.
