    Another stellar roundup of links. I especially appreciated the post by the Empowerment Self-Defense teacher. I agree with what she says about the paradox, and I don’t think I’ve seen that paradox acknowledged before in anything I’ve read online.

    Self-defense: It’s true that with freedom/power comes responsibility. That does not mean that power=responsibility, so no paradox, from where I sit. I think that teaching self-defense and strategies/tactics for rape reduction CAN be empowering and feminist, as long as it presents them as options not you-shoulds.

    I have no beef with starfish. Eyes on the ends of their arms? OK. Weird on, little fishies, fists with mouth and eyes!
